sweet Toccoa.

January 16, 2009

I didn’t get the animal love gene from my mom… I love playing with them and being around them, but I’m not one for taking care of them. Teresa for sure got it – she carries food around in her car in case she sees a stray animal. She’s determined to catch it, to find it a good home, if she’s late for work, she’s late for work… I say awe when I see a stray animal, but there isn’t anything in me that wants to divert from the course I am on to save it. What would I do with it? Mom and dad sure don’t want it at home with them cause let’s face it .. it would turn into mom’s animal, like my little mag pie did.

With all that to say… mom and I were talking yesterday, and I was spouting out that I wanted my sister to have a little one and that her dogs (all three of them, Lillie, Jennie & Mazie) and cat (Garfield) just don’t do it for me. She rambled, I didn’t listen… I came back with what animal have we ever had that I loved… then she looked over to the rug where Toccoa was laying and I couldn’t argue. Toccoa’s my snuggle buddy on Friday afternoons when I am lounging around the house. She can’t meow.. she eeehhh’s. She brings me her weights (two big colorful cotton balls with an empty toilet roll in between) so that I can throw them and let her fetch them like a dog.. Tonight we did a little impromptu photo shoot with the new camera. Here’s what we got…
